The lymph system is essentially the sewage system of our body. It is responsible for the removal of metabolic toxins and supplies antigens our body needs for cleaning the bodily fluids that are full of allergens, pathogens and cancer cells. The liquid that runs through this system is called lymph and its quantity surpasses the amount of blood in our body. However, the lymph system doesn’t have a pump like the heart, which means that the fluid needs motion in order to flow.

When the lymph doesn’t move, it may start accumulating. This can result in inflammation in and swelling in the lymph nodes which may result in numerous health problems. Our unhealthy lifestyle is the main reason for problems with the lymph system. We generally lead a sedentary lifestyle and eat a poor diet which causes numerous health problems. The lack of physical activity is detrimental for our muscular and pulmonary health as well as for the lymph system.

Keeping the lymph moving is especially important if you’re wearing a bra all day long and use commercial deodorants as well. The toxins and aluminum from deodorants can leak into our lymph nodes in the underarms and cause massive damage. Eating a poor diet rich in processed and unhealthy food makes the problem worse, resulting in stalled lymph flow and a body full of toxins.

How to move the lymph throughout your body

One of the surest ways to move lymph through your body is by dancing or jumping around and it can be done with a mini-trampoline which you can find for cheap. Just go up on the trampoline and start bouncing – you don’t need to jump high and you can hold on to something for balance if you need it. The gravitational pull will move the fluid throughout your body and regulate the work of the lymph system.

Another great way of moving lymph throughout your body is by training tennis, basketball or jumping rope. This will move the lymph and stimulate the removal of toxins from your body.

Some experts suggest that you don’t need anything strenuous to get the lymph moving – even a simple walk can help. Brisk walking has shown that it can reduce the risk of several mental and physical diseases and conditions, and will clear your mind and help you relax as well. Try going for 15-minute walks 3 times a week, then increase the duration and frequency every other week. The intense movement will move lymph throughout the channels and clean the nodes and your body of toxins.
